There are seven parish councillors and the council meets every two months, usually on the second Tuesday of the month in January, March, May, July, September and November.  
The Council considers any matters relating to the parish. All Council meetings are open to the public and include a “Public Forum” at the start of each meeting.
The Council owns a grassed field in Canwell, which is available for recreation use. The Council also owns the Quinney Hall in Canwell, but the running of the Hall is undertaken by a separate management committee.
